ECMA has had a busy agenda in the past few months representing the carton sector in multiple consultations and workshops in Brussels concerning the Single Use Plastics Directive implementation and the Tobacco Products Directive.

ECMA has also been focussing its efforts with other stakeholders such as CEPI and the CPI as we seek to ensure cartons are recognised as being fully recyclable. This will become increasingly important as the pan-European Extended Producer Responsibility schemes are modified and with the scheme costs increasingly influenced by eco-modulation.
