ECMA Managing Director presents new strategy in the Ukraine and Turkey

Hans van Schaik, Managing Director of European Folding Carton Association (ECMA), was in Lviv (Ukraine) and a few days later in Istanbul (Turkey) on the stage as speaker on the yearly Conference of printers and producers/converters of graphical and packaging materials.

The goal was to present to the Ukrainian and Turkish entrepreneurs and other stakeholders the steps ECMA is currently taking to make strategic activities, events and the tangible content of the membership proposition “optimized future proof and effective”. The theme of the presentation was “ECMA, Continuously Adapting”, reflecting the strategy to set and refine the association’s course continuously and every time based on the member’s demand and needs.

There are many challenging subjects that need the industry’s attention and where the association comes in to provide directions to the members. Introduced are “working groups” to be able to speed up actions around specific hot topics. The working groups will be next to the existing Forums and Committees, which have a more permanent and longer term profile.

Also highlighted on the stage was the attractiveness of the Folding Carton industry to be working in. It’s a top level industry, where sophisticated and very relevant products are made on state of the art machinery and where knowledge and skills of people are highly valued.
