Edelmann to acquire Elanders printing plant in China

The Edelmann Group,announced the signing of a contract for the acquisition of 100% of the shares in Elanders Beijing Printing Co., Ltd, an entity formerly owned by Elanders AB (publ). Edelmann thereby expands into the production of packaging solutions, primarily folding cartons and rigid boxes, for the beauty care and consumer brands markets in China, complementing the existing production site in Beijing, which currently serves the health care segment.

“The acquisition of a second site in China is tremendously important for the Edelmann Group as it creates a new hub for beauty care and consumer brands markets that we previously could not serve in this area. The additional site is located in close proximity to the current facility and will increase the overall Edelmann Group network to 21 sites, and more than 3,000 employees worldwide. It is expected that the acquisition will be completed before the end of the fourth quarter 2018. “We look forward to welcoming the new employees to our global team and are confident about a strong start and successful continuous growth,” adds Oliver Bruns.
